Privacy Policy

Strevel LLC ("strevel", "we", "us") makes the strevel app for logging workouts, food, and body weight and sharing progress with friends. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect what you put into the app so it can store, sync, and share it the way you choose. We don't sell your data, we don't show you ads, and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking.

1. Information we collect

Account information

• Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, Apple gives us a unique identifier for your account. We don't ask Apple for your name or email address, and we never receive your Apple ID password.

Profile information

• Your username, display name, bio, and profile photo.

Setup and body information

• What you enter during setup and in Settings: sex, age, height, body weight, activity level, goal, target weight, preferred units, and your calorie and macronutrient targets.
• Your sharing preferences (for example, whether your workouts, meals, and weight are visible to friends or only to you).

What you log

• Food: foods you log, amounts, meals, and dates, plus any custom foods you create (including their nutrition values and barcodes).
• Workouts: workouts, exercises, sets, weights, reps, routines, gym setups, custom exercises, and notes.
• Weight: your weigh-ins.

Social activity

• Your friend requests and friendships, and the accounts you block.
• Posts, the photos and captions you add to them, likes, and comments.
• Reports you submit about other users or content.

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifier.
• We do not read from or write to Apple Health.
• We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. Device permissions

• Camera. Used only to scan food barcodes. Scanning happens on your device; camera images are not stored or sent to us. Only the barcode number is used, and it is saved only if you attach it to a food you create.
• Photos. Only the photos you pick for your profile or a post are uploaded. Photos are re-encoded on your device before upload, which removes embedded metadata such as location.
• Notifications. Meal and weigh-in reminders are scheduled on your device. They don't send anything to us.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the app: storing your logs, syncing them across your devices, and restoring them when you sign in.
• To calculate your targets and trends, such as calorie targets and estimated energy expenditure. These calculations use the information you enter.
• To run the social features: showing your profile, connecting you with friends, and creating posts from your workouts and meals according to your sharing settings.
• To keep the community safe: reviewing reports, enforcing blocks, and acting on content or accounts that break our Terms of Use.
• To respond when you contact us, and to maintain, secure, and fix the service.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. What other people can see

• Any signed-in strevel user can find you by username and see your username, display name, bio, and profile photo. Profile photos are stored at a public web address, so anyone who has that address can view the image.
• Your friends can see the posts you share with friends, along with their photos, captions, likes, and comments.
• Posts are created from your logs. Depending on your sharing settings, finishing a workout or logging a meal can create a post your friends see. You control this per category (workouts, food, weight) in Settings → Sharing, and per post from its menu. Posts set to "Only me" are visible only to you.
• Blocked users can't see your profile or posts, send you requests, or appear to you.
• Your logs themselves (your full diary, workout history, and weigh-ins) are private to you. Friends see only what appears in shared posts.

5. Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the app. They process data only on our behalf:

• Supabase hosts our database, sign-in service, and photo storage. Your data is stored on Supabase's servers in the United States (northern Virginia).
• Apple provides Sign in with Apple and delivers the app through the App Store.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. In a merger or sale, this policy would continue to apply to your information.

6. Data retention and deletion

• We keep your information for as long as your account exists.
• Deleting your account: go to Settings → Delete Account in the app. This permanently deletes your account, profile, logs, posts, comments, likes, friendships, and uploaded photos from our servers, and revokes strevel's access to your Apple sign-in. It can't be undone.
• Data you delete may remain in our backups for a limited time until those backups expire. Reports submitted about content may be kept as long as needed for safety and moderation.
• A copy of your data is also stored on your device. Deleting the app removes it from that device.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can edit most information directly in the app and delete your account at any time. For anything else, email privacy@strevel.app and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.

8. Security

Data is sent to our servers over encrypted connections. Access rules on our database make your private data readable only by your account. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

strevel is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Health information

Information such as your weight, body measurements, and food intake is sensitive. We use it only to provide the app's features to you and to share what you choose to share. strevel is not a medical service, and we are not a healthcare provider.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and let you know in the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect.
